Lou Tyson - A beautiful soul inside and out!

We first met Lou when she was pregnant and we asked if she’d like to be a model for projectme. Little did we know how incredibly awesome she is! This game changer mum has a list a mile long of achievements and successes, so we thought it was only right to showcase her beautiful style and ambitious personality amongst our inspiring group of projectme mamas.

Lou grew up in Whanganui and was blessed to have a blended family of 3 sisters, 3 brothers, her mum and dad and her step mum. As a New Zealander, Lou did everything most kiwi kids do excpet for the local paper run. From age 13, she juggled a varety of different jobs including baby sitting, working at the local markets selling traditional Maori Fry-Bread and also at the local Fish and Chips shop.

When Lou was a kid she wanted to be a model when she grew up and also work in a suit. LOL, I think most young girls at some stage dream of wearing 'work clothes'. It was this desire to wear a suit that led Lou to AUT University in Auckland where she completed a business degree majoring in accounting and a minoring in Human Resources and Employment Relations, finally gradutaing in 2015. However she didn't stop there and has registered to complete her masters in Human Resources starting in 2019.

Lou is seriously goal driven! Whether they are career, hobbies, financial or fitness goals, she will juggle her time to work towards each goal. If Lou wants to a certain job she'll do her best to make it happen. This is clearly evident in how much she has achieved.

While studying Lou made her dreams a reality and started Modelling, which led her to become a TV presenter on Moari TV.

"I love that I can have a career that I enjoy and work for a company that allows flexibility for me to also do my hobbies presenting and modelling"

Lou can speak Te Reo Maori coversationally and loves interviewing talent and being apart of a team to share their stories and kaupapa.

In January 2019, Lou fell pregnant to her adoring partner and welcomed their son named Te Puuwairua Raymond Tyson on September 18th 2018. Throughout her pregnancy Lou was an absolute power mum. She continued to not only work but bared her beautiful bump through her modelling and we were so lucky to have her as part of our very first projectme photoshoot.

Keep an eye out for Lou in our garments online and through instagram!

A little more from Lou...

I'm currently on maternity leave from my full time job and am enjoying spending time with our son, however as maternity leave comes to an end we will re-evaluate the way I work and flexible working arrangements will definitely be a massive help...as well as having my supportive whānau. I feel blimmen lucky to have the whānau support we have! And having a hands on Daddy is the best!

My favourite piece of clothing right now:
High waisted tights and easy access the boob singlets!

Favourite make-up:
Well I'm not wearing much make up ATM but one of my favourite products is jojoba oil, it's a great moisturiser, and great to use as a make-up remover (when I do wear make-up). I would love to make time to actually update my make up and learn how to do an easy everyday fresh make up look! Note to self watch some tutorials!!!

Favourite perfume:
Marc Jacobs Decadence
