Hundreds of Hotmilk garments donated to charities in need.

Earlier this year we donated an assortment of XL/XXL briefs, various sizes of nursing bras and over 500 units of pyjama shorts to I Support The Girls; a charity we have supported for many years.

I Support the Girls collects and distributes donations of new underwear, new or gently used bras, and individually sealed tampons and maxi pads to women and girls nationally and internationally. Whether they are homeless, refugees, in transitional housing, or fleeing domestic violence, women and girls should never have to compromise on dignity.

The packages arrived just after Christmas and were generously sorted into bundles by volunteers from around the area. Being winter, the temperatures were around -1 degree, so efforts to get the PJ shorts distributed were put on hold until the weather warmed up a little.

In February 2020, I support the girls distributed the Hotmilk garments to 4 different charities in need around the United States of America. These included:

Interfaith Works

Interfaith Works that serves the poor and homeless in Montgomery County, MD. Every day, hundreds of people in their community turn to Interfaith Works for help. From prevention to emergency shelter to permanent supportive housing, Interfaith Works helps people in crisis lift themselves out of poverty, changing lives for a better today and tomorrow.

The National Centre for Children and Families

The National Centre for Children and Families in Bethesda, MD is an organisation that works to create total, healthy living environments for vulnerable children, youth and families, and the quality of life which empowers their ability to thrive and demonstrate responsibility.

So Others Might Eat

So Others Might Eat (SOME) in Washington, DC is an organisation that has developed many programs to serve the homeless in the city. The women were so excited to receive new PJ shorts and thought they were incredible ‘cute’. One woman, Wanda, who is pictured in the hot-pink sweatshirt was literally dancing around with her PJ shorts, she was so excited!

Sophia House for Women

Sophia House for Women in Rockville, MD is an organisation who provide short term emergency shelter for women with mental illness, substance abuse, trauma, or long term disabilities.

In all cases the donations were met with open arms and something many of us take for granted has impacted the lives of women all over the states. It’s an incredible feeling being able to donate garments to those less fortunate and it is something we will continnue to do every year.
